Understanding And Building The Foundations Of Your Practice
Over five Thursdays, we’ll explore the foundations of yoga together: the poses and sequences that let you build a practice on solid ground, wherever you’re starting from. We’ll break down the alignment of each posture according to your body and your needs, with a touch of philosophy and breathwork woven into every session.
This series is for anyone beginning, or returning to, yoga on foundations that are clear and well understood. More experienced practitioners are welcome too, to revisit their alignment. Kept to a small, intimate group, for real attention on each person in the room.
Each session runs 90 minutes.
[Missed sessions are not made up or refunded]
The Experience
This series will help you understand the foundations of yoga, through the body and the mind, while learning the poses and sequences that form the base of a steady, lasting practice.
Above all, we come to understand the practice through our own body, through the alignment it asks of us, in a way that honors a traditional practice while staying true to what is functional for the body we actually have.
In a space held with care, without judgment, we’ll uncover, week by week, the keys to a practice that only wishes you well.
How To Prepare
Come dressed comfortably, in clothes that allow for full, easy movement. Bring a towel and a water bottle, and come as you are, in the body you have today. Flexibility isn’t a requirement here, and there’s no shame in where you’re starting from.
The Program
- Sun salutations, broken down and understood, not just repeated
- Standing and seated postures, explored through alignment specific to your own body
- Foundational sequences that carry from posture to posture with intention
- A touch of yoga philosophy, week by week, to ground the practice in meaning, not just movement
- An introduction to Pranayama, and the role the breath plays in the practice
- Everything brought together in a guided flow, so the pieces become one practice
Meet Your Teacher Haïfaâ
Haïfaâ, founder of Little Bali Brussels, has been practicing yoga for 14 years and teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa for over 8, with more than 2,500 hours of teaching and 750+ hours of training behind her, including 500 hours of Yoga Alliance-certified training.
She has trained directly with Manju Jois across multiple teacher trainings, and traveled to India several times to deepen her study of yoga. His therapeutic approach to the practice remains her deepest influence. She has continued to train with some of the world’s most respected Ashtanga teachers, and keeps applied yoga anatomy at the center of her ongoing education.
Haïfaâ is also an ICF-accredited leadership coach (ACC, CPCC), and it’s this dual background, precise, grounded yoga instruction paired with a coach’s attentiveness, that shapes how she teaches: with patience, close attention to each body in the room, and a real commitment to making the practice feel like home, wherever you’re starting from.
